Dr. Jeffrey Taranto, O.D., native of Atlanta, Georgia, received his undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia then completed his Optometric education at the Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. He continued his studies post Optometry school, completing his residency in Ocular Disease and Special Testing at the Suny College of Optometry in New York City and the Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He is Board Certified in Optometry, a member of the American Optometric Association and licensed by the state of California. Post residency, Dr. Taranto practiced in Manhattan for six years before moving to Los Angeles to be closer to family and to pursue his lifelong dream of opening his own Optometric practice.
Dr. Taranto's Philosophy
Dr. Taranto enjoys his work and enjoys getting to know his patients who are focused on achieving the best vision they possibly can while maintaining excellent ocular health. He is truly a people person and absolutely loves getting to know his patients beyond just there visual needs.
Dr. Taranto's Optometric Interests
Dr. Taranto enjoys fitting Scleral Rigid Gas Permeable contact lenses for patients who have dropped out of contact lens wear and also enjoys performing Orthokeratology which is a great alternative to Lasik. He loves kids because he is a big kid himself so he is looking forward to seeing as many pediatric patients as possible. Other interests include the newest Treatments of Dry Eye and he prefers to continue to educate himself by reading up on the newest technologies everyday.
Dr. Taranto's Personal Interests
Dr. Taranto is a big sports fan and he is also a dog lover in every sense of the word. When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his nephews and nieces. He tries to exercise on a regular basis and his passions are running, lifting weights, and swimming outside of work.
